About the book: year / Modern higher education with the use of computer technology - what could be a less suitable topic for a humorous novel? Too dry and academic. Magic sounds promising, but banal. But if you add the second to the first, multiply the sum by the harsh Russian reality, raise the work to the degree of primordially Russian carelessness and, finally, add two strict English variables, you get something completely unpredictable, like, for example, the Russian branch of the British Academy of High Magic. Like all educational institutions of this type, for subsequent smooth operation, the branch must undergo an unpleasant procedure called state certification. It would seem nothing special. But... Due to its national mentality, the branch lives by Murphy's Laws in general and its own rules in particular, as a result of which it turns out to be unprepared for the upcoming inspection. To provide assistance, the rector of the London Academy Center sends the best teachers to identify and correct existing shortcomings. Conservative Englishmen find themselves in an environment alien to them, strange and incomprehensible, becoming full-fledged employees of the Russian branch. Their Russian colleagues, no matter how hard they try, cannot bring neither the documentation, nor the premises, nor the students into a pious form, so that at any chance there is something to be done, and as a result it turns out to be a bit of a mess. And so - in all spheres of the life and work of academicians, including the educational process itself, the irreplaceable educational work that echoes it, joint trips to nature and even independent repairs. However, we must give them their due: the employees cope with their problems, troubles and non-standard situations, albeit not immediately, not as well as required, but at the very least the Academy exists to teach the still fragile younger generation. The branch has the latest technologies at its disposal, designed to put knowledge into the heads of future specialists in high magic. How these technologies work is a separate matter. The desire to do what is best often leads to the same as always, and the belief that things can’t get any worse is replaced by the understanding that things can’t be that way! But Hurray! The check has been passed, the documents have been received, it’s time for the dispatched wizards to go home... But no! The management of the branch is changing, and life is entering a new, even more unpredictable direction. And yet, despite the vicissitudes of fate, our amazing people have an amazing ability not to lose heart and laugh at themselves with all their advantages and disadvantages. And therefore, even if it is unknown what will happen tomorrow, whether it’s a disaster, the Academy’s employees go through life laughing, and their main motto is the words: We’ll wait and see. We'll live to find out. We will survive - we will take into account!
