About the book: 2013 / Javier Marias is a modern Spanish writer, literary critic, translator, member of the Spanish Academy of Sciences. His books have been translated into dozens of languages ​​(the novels White Heart, In the Hour of Battle Tomorrow, and All Souls were published in Russian) and have been awarded major international and national literary awards. Thus, only in 2011 he received the Austrian State Prize for European Literature, and his last novel, “Your Deeds, Love,” was awarded the Spanish National Prize for Literature, which X. Marias refused for a number of compelling reasons. In addition, the same novel was named the best book of the year by the country's leading critics. Let us add that Marias is one of the very few Spanish-language authors whose works are included in the Modern Classics series of Penguin Books (along with texts by García Lorca, Borges, Neruda, García Márquez and Octavio Paz).
