About the book: 2021 / The “Second Apocalypse” series by Canadian writer R. Scott Bakker is a book compared to which A Song of Ice and Fire is the tale of pink ponies. They haven't written anything darker or sharper yet. Events take place on a subcontinent called Earva. Once upon a time, even before the arrival of people, Earva was inhabited by a proud and wise race of kunuroi (non-humans), who had reached unprecedented heights in science, magic and art. But then a spaceship of an alien race of complete monsters - the Inchoroi - fell straight from the sky. A war of extermination began between the nonhumans and the Inchoroi, as a result of which the Inchoroi, of which only two remained, were kicked back into their Ark. But the Kunuroi also paid dearly for the victory. The Inchoroi, with the help of some cunning virus, destroyed all non-human women, as a result of which reproduction for the Kunuroi became simply impossible. But, as a bonus, the nonhumans received defective immortality... leading to complete and irrevocable madness. And then, from the neighboring deserts of Eanna, Five Tribes of People came to the long-suffering Earva, bringing with them the Holy Scripture kindly slipped by the Inchoroi - the Tusk, in which it was written in black and white that non-humans should be killed without any mercy. And sorcerers. And in general, everyone who does not experience an orgasm at the sight of the Tusk. Humans and nonhumans quarreled for a long time, but in the end they reconciled, although there were only a few Kunuroi themselves left. Inhumans taught people magic and much more. The Ancient Era began when the center of civilization was the North, inhabited by the Norsiray people. They founded great empires, among which Kuniuriya was the most powerful. They slowly forgot about the Inchoroi, but in vain... Adepts of the Mangaekka magical school, under the leadership of a non-human named Ketyingira, discovered the Ark and found the last two surviving Inchoroi - Aurang and Aurax. Together they decided to summon the mysterious Mog-Farau, the No-God, who had the power to destroy the world. Thus began the First Apocalypse. The High King of Kuniuria, Anasurimbor Kelmomas, gathered a huge army of humans and non-humans and marched towards the Ark of the Inchoroi, the monstrous Golgotterath. But the army soon disintegrated due to internal squabbles and fell under the blows of the Consult. Using Inchoroi technology, the Consult created three new races: the Sranc (local orcs), the Bashrag (local trolls) and the Vraku (local dragons). These cute creatures, led by Mog-Farau, completely destroyed the entire northern civilization over the next 32 years. Ancient cities were destroyed, all babies were born dead, tens of millions died. Kuniuriya was destroyed, Anasurimbor Kelmomas died, and his best friend the sorcerer Seswatha, one of the most consistent fighters against the Consult, was forced to flee to the south. In the end, the army of the No-God was stopped by the Kiraneans (representatives of the Ketyan people related to the Norsiraians) with the help of Seswatha and the Spear-Heron - an ancient Inchoroi energy weapon that could kill even the No-God. The First Apocalypse failed, but the Consult survived and fled back to Golgotterath. People gradually forgot about the horrors of antiquity and began to consider the Apocalypse nothing more than a legend. Seswatha founded the magical school of the Covenant and each of his followers was doomed to dream about the events of that war for the rest of their lives, so as not to forget about their duty. But all other people saw them only as madmen. Contents: Cycle: SECOND APOCALYPSE: Aspect-Emperor: 1. Richard Scott Bakker: Eye of the Judge (Translation: Elena Kislenkova)2. R.
