About the book: 2001 / The story is dedicated to everyone who participated in the creation of the first Soviet atomic bomb: scientists, designers, intelligence officers, as well as engineers, laboratory assistants, workers and prisoners , who bore on his shoulders all the hardships of the construction and development of the first nuclear facilities. Historically, this story is a continuation of the previous story “On the Eve of Emergency,” but in literary terms it is an independent artistic and documentary work. The story uses authentic documents declassified in recent years (“USSR Atomic Project”, vol. 2, 1945–1954, edited by L.D. Ryabev, Nauka-Fizmatlit, Moscow, 1999), as well as some facts and information from the book of the American historian, Professor David Holloway “Stalin and the Bomb” (ed. “Siberian Chronograph”, Novosibirsk Chronograph”, Novosibirsk, 1997). The author expresses gratitude to nuclear industry veterans I.P. Lazarev, A.A. Samarkand, Yu.V. Linda, expert “ Greenpeace" on radiation safety to I.V.
