About the book: year / Andrei Bely (Bugaev) was born on October 26, 1880 in Moscow, in the family of a mathematician, professor at Moscow University Nikolai Vasilyevich Bugaev. In 1899 he was enrolled in the natural sciences department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Moscow University (he graduated from the university in 1903). In 1901 he writes his first story. In 1902 - the first magazine publications. In 1903, the Northern Symphony was published. 1904 - first meeting with Blok and L. D. Blok. In the same year, his book of poetry and prose “Gold in Azure” was published. Travels a lot - Europe, Egypt, Palestine. Publishes the novel “Silver Dove”, books of articles “Symbolism”, “Green Meadow”. In 1916, the novel “Petersburg” was published. I met the February Revolution in Petrograd. After 1923 he lived in Russia without a break. In 1925 he finished the novel “Moscow”. In 1930-33, two volumes of memoirs, “At the Turn of Two Centuries” and “The Beginning of the Century,” were published (the third volume, “Between Two Revolutions,” was published posthumously in 1935). The book “The Mastery of Gogol” (1934) is published. On January 8, 1934, the writer died of paralysis of the respiratory tract. Buried at Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
