About the book: 1894 / Bishop Vissarion (in the world Vasily Petrovich Nechaev, March 15 (27), 1823, Koledino village, Krapivensky district, Tula province - May 30, 1905, Kostroma) - bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church, bishop of Kostroma and Galich. Graduated from the Tula Theological Seminary (1844), Moscow Theological Academy (1848). Master of Theology (1850; dissertation topic: “St. Demetrius, Metropolitan of Rostov”). Doctor of Theology (1894; “for services in interpretation, revelation of the truths of Orthodoxy, explanation of worship and prayers and denunciation of schismatics”). Honorary member of the Moscow Theological Academy and the Moscow Society of Lovers of Spiritual Enlightenment (1884, on the 25th anniversary of the publication of the magazine “Soulful Reading”). Honorary member of the Kazan Theological Academy (1895). Author of numerous works, many of which were published in the journal “Soulful Reading”. An exegete, his main works include interpretations of proverbs - passages from the Bible that are offered by the church during liturgical readings.
