About the book: 1996 / Apraksin, Alexander Dmitrievich, fiction writer. Born in 1851. He was educated at the School of Law and the 1st Military Gymnasium. He served in the cavalry and lived abroad for a long time. He participated in the “Observer”, “Russian Bulletin”, “St. Petersburg Vedomosti”, “Birzhevye Vedomosti”, almost all Moscow newspapers and many other periodicals. In his novels and stories he reveals knowledge of the life and customs of the great world. The novel "Tricksters ” tells the story of the adventures of two friends trying to implement a carefully developed plan to get rich at the cost of “innocent” deception. But unexpected miscalculations destroyed the dreams of two rogues about a comfortable existence abroad, and they are subjects in the face of the law... Similar desires for easy money and a sweet life bring the small bank employee from the novel “The Three Rogues” into the company of inveterate swindlers. He becomes an accomplice to the crime and from the boring, monotonous existence of the clerical environment finds himself in a whirlpool of action-packed events unfolding on the pages of the novel.
