About the book: 1961 / The Second World War began on September 1, 1939 with the attack of Nazi Germany on Poland. This day marked the beginning of a gigantic military conflict that dragged almost all the nations of the world into the abyss of war. But September 1, 1939 was only the date of the start of armed conflict; the Second World War had been prepared by the imperialists of different countries for many years. The guns started talking when the two groups of imperialist powers had exhausted the possibility of “peacefully” agreeing on domination over the world, and the war did not at all mean a radical change in the policies of the opposing coalitions - the alliance of aggressors and the Anglo-Franco-American bloc. Only the means of achieving goals have changed. The policy remains the same. Therefore, the events of 1939–1945 cannot be considered outside of close connection with the previous policies of the main powers of the capitalist world.
