Returning to his homeland, he again took up his favorite job at sea, and soon a pen was again requested in his hand. In 1954, Klimenchenko’s first book was published - the story “The True Course”, and then a collection of stories “The Open Sea”, essays “Baltic - Neva - Lena”, “The Unfurled Flag”, the novel “Distance Navigator”. Yuri Dmitrievich Klimenchenko still does not leave the bridge and sails as a captain. He is a member of the Union of Soviet Writers. The story “The Uncomfortable Sea” is written on factual material from one of the ship crossings, of which the author was a participant..
