About the book: 1988 / Alexey Nikolaevich Pleshcheev (1825–1893) - an outstanding Russian writer. His early poetic work was imbued with revolutionary ideals; the lines of his poems became a symbol of revolutionary romanticism. The poet's subtle lyrical poems inspired many Russian composers (Tchaikovsky, Cui), who created wonderful romances. The biography of the poet is recreated by the author on the basis of an in-depth study of Pleshcheev’s creative heritage, his role in the cultural life of Russia in the second half of the 19th century.
