    About the book: year / Boris Sergeevich Marcus was born in Moscow in 1919. After graduation, he was sent to the front. He took part in the defense of Moscow, was seriously wounded, and from 1943 until the end of the war he fought in the Guards mortar units. From the Salsky steppes of the Rostov region, he traveled along military roads through Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Hungary. He finished the war in Austria with the rank of guard major. After the war, Boris Sergeevich Marcus worked as an architect. He dealt with the problems of reconstructing the center of Moscow and preserving the historical city. Since 1988 he has worked in the Expert Advisory Public Council under the Chief Architect of Moscow. From 1998 to 2002 - Vice-President of the Union of Moscow Architects (SMA). Currently, he is an advisor to the President of the SMA. Honored Architect of Russia.
