About the book: 2015 / Andrei Bogolyubsky is one of the most unique rulers of Ancient Rus'. The son of Yuri Dolgoruky, the founder of Moscow, and the Polovtsian princess, daughter of Khan Aepa. He became one of the first collectors of Russian lands, essentially creating the Vladimir-Suzdal principality in the 12th century, the cornerstone of the future Muscovite Rus'. In 1169, Andrei Bogolyubsky conquered Kyiv, where his father had previously been poisoned. Deeply religious, the prince and warrior established two holidays that are still revered among the main church dates: the Savior and the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the 18th century he was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church.
