About the book: 1982 / The last book of the writer Vladimir Sergeevich Varshavsky "Pedigree of Bolshevism" (1982) is dedicated to refuting the popular opinion in the West that Bolshevism is a natural continuation of Russian statehood, a manifestation of the Russian national mentality. “Talk that the Russian people are responsible for all the crimes of the Bolshevik government,” writes Varshavsky, “is the same manifestation of primitive, pogrom, genocidal consciousness as the conviction that all Jews are responsible for the crucifixion of Christ.” In the Russian people, the writer emphasizes, the main thing is the desire for Truth, Goodness, Beauty, God and Love. Russian people strive to unite the Kingdom of God and the earthly, while Marxism parasitizes on this desire, being a “pseudo-scientific, materialistic, godless” surrogate of the Millennial Kingdom. The book contains an extremely interesting analysis of A. Platonov’s novel “Chevengur”, which confronts the true New City.
