About the book: 2004 / The SB aircraft (high-speed bomber) became one of the best bombers in the world during the period between the world wars. A wonderful product was made by the workers of the experimental design bureau (OKB), which was led by the order bearer Andrei Nikolaevich Tupolev. A twin-engine airplane with a bomb load in Spain in 1936 flew faster than Nationalist fighters. At the Security Council, desperate Chinese pilots bravely fought the Japanese military in the Far East. In mid-September 1939, SB bombers supported from the air the liberation campaign of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army in the western regions of Ukraine and Belarus; in the West, for some reason, this peaceful campaign is called the invasion of Poland by the Soviet Union, but strange... During the Finnish war, units armed with the SB . suffered heavy losses. At the time of the invasion of German troops on the territory of the world's first state of workers and peasants, SB aircraft remained the most popular front-line bombers in the Red Army Air Force. By this time, the aircraft was already outdated and in all respects inferior to the German ones. The SB became easy prey for the eagles of Tolstoy Herman, but the SB continued to be used at the front until 1943. Until the very end of the war and even after its end, the SB was used as high-speed transport and courier aircraft, for training purposes. During this period, SBs were used not only by the Air Force, but also by Aeroflot. Aviation factories in Fili and Irkutsk built a total of 6831 SB aircraft. Serial production was carried out from 1936 to 1941. SB became the most produced aircraft in the history of Tupolev, the Tupolev company.
