About the book: 1979 / The book publishes Russian magically fantastic tales recorded in different years, from the last century to the present day, on territories of Western, Eastern Siberia and the Far East. In addition to printed sources, the work uses materials extracted from archives and manuscript collections, as well as collected by individual collectors. There is a commentary for each tale; at the end of the book there is a dictionary of rarely used and dialect words, an index of proper names and titles, topographical and alphabetical indexes, lists of storytellers and collectors. The introductory article reflects the issues of studying the Russian Siberian fairy tale, the specifics of its existence in Siberia, the local flavor in fairy tales. The book is intended for folklorists, local historians, as well as for all lovers of folk tales.
