About the book: year / Ionova Marianna Borisovna - prose writer, poet, critic. Born and lives in Moscow. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the University of the Russian Academy of Education and the Faculty of Art History of the Russian State University for the Humanities. She has been published in the magazines “Air”, “Arion”, “New World”, “Znamya”, “October”, “Gvideon”. Winner of the “Debut” prize in the category “Essays” (2011). The novella and stories included in the book are distinguished by the intimacy of the plot space, the concreteness of details that is preserved in the influx of dream vision, and the intonation that combines detachment and lyricism. Ionova’s characters try to balance the past and the present, often artificially reconciling them in their lives, thus giving it meaning.
