About the book: 2009 / Daily operational reports of the Main Directorate for Combating Banditry (GUBB) of the NKVD - Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR are unique in information saturation with a source that allows literally day by day to study the activities of nationalist formations in the western regions of the USSR. Thanks to operational reports, we can get acquainted with the frightening everyday life of the “war after the war” in the western regions of the USSR. The first book of the multi-volume edition of operational reports of the GUBB NKVD - Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR is dedicated to the activities of the OUN and UPA formations in Western Ukraine in the period from February to June 1945. The originals of the reports used in preparing the publication are stored in the State Archives of the Russian Federation.
