About the book: 1952 / The eighth volume of the Complete Works of N.V. Gogol publishes his critical and journalistic articles relating to two different periods of his life and work Gogol. A significant part of them falls on the years 1831–1836, the other part falls on the last years of the writer’s life, 1845–1850. In the interval between these periods, Gogol wrote only one small review of the almanac “Morning Dawn” for 1842, published in “Moskvityanin” in 1842 with significant additions by M. P. Pogodin.
