About the book: 2014 / Eric Ingobor, [pseudonym of Nikolai Arkadyevich Sokolovsky] (born 1902, Chistopol - no earlier than October 1941), - Russian prose writer, playwright, science fiction writer , successor to the traditions of H.G. Wells, author of two books: “The Fourth Symphony” (1934) and “Etlandia” (1935), which were thoroughly destroyed in the article “On Epigonism” (magazine “October”, 1936, No. 5), after which he was published as a prose writer I couldn't anymore. Ingobor's surreal prose was appreciated by his correspondents - such dissimilar writers as A. Makarenko and V. Shklovsky. He was drafted into the "writer's militia" of Moscow (as a quartermaster). Captured in early October 1941; On October 10 he was taken to the Semlow concentration camp in Pomerania. Further fate is unknown. To this day it has never been reprinted. The prose of Eric Ingobor is another evidence that social and dystopian fiction continued to exist in the USSR even during the years of the worst rampant censorship.
