About the book: 2016 / What is RIF? How does RIF differ from other forms of a similar genre? RIF is a series of historical essays called "Entertaining History of France ", created as one of the forms of popularization of French History and having the following differences from similar stories: 1. The whole story is divided into five main topics, which allows the reader to make a choice according to his mood or interests corresponding to his character: - Unsolved stories in the History of France - Horrible stories in the History of France - False stories in the History of France - Vicious stories in the History of France –– Funny stories in the History of France –2. The stories in RIF are presented on the basis of critical analysis, built on the correct logic of cause-and-effect relationships and the concept of “superhypothesis” (see the preface to the book “Unsolved Stories...”).3. Stories in RIF are presented extremely succinctly and without any ambitious authorial emotions and subjective ideas, but at the same time, RIF uses some poetic forms to recreate the historical context of a particular historical character.4. At the end of each story there is a section “Task for the inquisitive Historian”, which is a kind of game - according to the task, you need to find the answer to the historical problem posed by searching either on the Internet, or in your own or some other library, or simply by visiting France in the appropriate historical places indicated by the author in the books RIF-a.5. The stories in RIF are written based on the works of the best modern French Historians of recent decades. At the same time, RIF is not their direct translation or any kind of tracing paper and sought to critically rework even their theses. Some documents in the RIF are of exclusively archival origin, i.e. taken from the original source and based on the author’s personal visit to historical places in France described in the RIF.
