About the book: 2018 / For a long time in the countries of the former USSR, Judith Butler was perceived primarily as a gender theorist, in particular, a theorist of queer performativity. The purpose of this book is to introduce her as a philosopher. Moreover, as a political philosopher looking for political solutions in the conditions of a new, in her opinion, ontology of the social – the ontology of wars. Although Butler criticizes her government, her nationalism, her religion, the political strategies she analyzes are easily recognizable as our post-Soviet ones, which we face in our own political, economic and cultural context.
