About the book: 1964 / I know that many of my readers have a bad attitude towards spelling. Her demands, of course, are fulfilled unquestioningly, but they do not like our spelling and are not proud of it; there is no gratitude for the valuable things she gives us. Love spelling, be proud of it? Is this possible? And, most importantly, what to love and what to be proud of? In this book I would like to tell you why Russian spelling is worthy of respect and even gratitude, despite all its shortcomings. There are shortcomings, even quite a few - and yet she is good! So I will argue with those who do not appreciate the high merits of our letter, I will try to convince them. This is what the brochure was written for. In addition, it was written for another purpose: to explain in what ways our writing can be improved, so that it is not “still good”, but simply good.
