Zazubrin (1895–1938) is dedicated to the events civil war in Siberia, when the Red Army and the partisans of the Taseev Republic, defending the gains of the revolution, smashed Kolchak’s gangs and asserted Soviet power. The novel vividly, authentically and originally shows pictures of the liberation of Siberia from the White Guards; the collision of “two worlds” - old and new; romantic pathos of revolutionary struggle; organizational and leadership role of the party. The novel was first published in 1921 and is the first great work of Soviet literature, which was highly appreciated by V. I. Lenin and M. Gorky. Taken from the web.
