About the book: 2015 / The new book of the famous marine painter Nikolai Cherkashin opens with a documentary story about the difficult and dangerous transition of Captain I.I. Riznich and his crew on the submarine "St. George" from Italy to Arkhangelsk in 1917. One of the sections of the book, “Exodus and Campaign,” is dedicated to Russian military emigration, or more precisely to the Russian Exodus in 1920 and later years. It is based on the author’s travel diary, written during a unique sea voyage to the places of Russian dispersion, which took place in 2010 in the Mediterranean Sea under the auspices of the Foundation of the All-Praised Apostle Andrew
