About the book: 2014 / Publication of the memoirs of A. V. Chernysh (1884–1967), a representative of the galaxy of Russian officers who participated in the First World War, colonel of the General Staff, Chief of Communications of the 17th Corps of the 5th Russian Army, carried out jointly with the State Archive of the Russian Federation and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. The first three parts of the memoirs cover the period of the author’s service from 1914 to 1916 and present unique eyewitness accounts and combat participants actions in the areas of the San River near Przemysl, crossing the Bug River, retreat of the Russian army to Vladimir-Volynsky. The last part of the memoirs is dedicated to the service of A.V. Chernysh in the Volunteer Army in 1918.
