About the book: 1912 / All criminal material presented to your attention was selected partly from trials, partly from the stories of living witnesses of what happened. All the facts described took place in Samara during the turbulent period from 1904 to 1907. The author does not guarantee the correct presentation of the chronology of events; errors in this regard are quite possible. Some of the characters' surnames have been changed and their names replaced with nicknames that existed in the slum world. But in any case, all these types are real. The above scenes, of course, are a drop in the ocean of what happened during the indicated period of timelessness and complete disorganization of police power, but still quite clearly characterize a certain period of our sad reality. The dens described do not exist at this time, but they are replaced by others, whose activities on a smaller scale continue to this day. I believe that reading the artlessly compiled chronicle will be very useful.
