  • MediaDB / «My India" Jim Corbett: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2002 / Abstract Gautier Sans Avoir (performed OCR and proofreading): The third book by the English author Jim Corbett (1875–1955) is partly autobiographical. It consists of essays about the life and work of the poorest Indians: peasants - tenants of Jim Corbett's lands, railway workers, where the author served for 21 years as a loading and unloading contractor, etc. A number of touching stories are presented, testifying to the selfless help of Corbett and ordinary Indians to the poor who find themselves in a difficult situation. Interesting details of the life and customs of the inhabitants of Northern India in the first half of the 20th century. In a certain sense, this work is no less entertaining than the works of J. Corbett about tigers and man-eating leopards.
