About the book: year / Why has humanity still not managed to create an ideal society where every person would be happy? Whenever romantics propose to build a new utopia, something always prevents them from fully realizing it. But what is the main problem? Perhaps it is that people are building this utopia on the basis of a system of universal human values. Maybe we should abandon these ideas and create a society where every person will be who he really is? An egoist who wants to live only for himself? Multi-billionaire Alan Risen believed that he had built such an ideal society - a city that would amaze with its splendor, where anyone could work and create without regard to censorship, religion, or sanctimonious morality. Selfishness, the desire for personal happiness, the thirst for profit are now a virtue and not a vice. Businessmen are considered the most respected members of society, on whom, as if on the shoulders of Atlanteans, the world rests. By chance, Frank Falkland, a talented designer, test racer, and successful businessman who fits perfectly into the idea of such an Atlanta, ends up here. What could await him in such a place? Success, the love of the most beautiful woman, the respect of all members of society? Or something creepy and frightening that could make even hell freeze over? The plot of the dilogy is inspired by the game "BioShock", which sets out a story based on the philosophy of objectivism, "reasonable egoism", the cult of individualism of the American writer of Russian origin Ayn Rand (Alice Rosenbaum). But the book is not a novelization of the game, and does not pretend to be a full-fledged criticism of this philosophy.
