About the book: 1979 / Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant General S. A. Andryushchenko spent all the years of the Great Patriotic War at the front, participated in battles for the Crimea and the Caucasus, and from 1943 until Victory Day he fought as part of the 23rd Rifle Corps, being the chief of staff of the 23rd Rifle Division, and then the named corps, parts of which fought for the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary from the fascist yoke, Austria and Czechoslovakia. In his book, the author talks about the activities of corps and division headquarters, about the combat operations of formations and units, about the heroism and courage of Red Army soldiers, sergeants and officers, about their exploits, about interesting meetings with famous Soviet military leaders.
