About the book: 2010 / Novel "Equator. Black Color & White Color" is a story that began during the war in Afghanistan and ended in the American prison "Polunski", known for its harsh attitude towards those who are in it. "Equator" is a novel about love, war and homeland. Moreover, it is unknown what is more important for his heroes. “The best Bad Boy in the World, who brings cartridges to the bourgeoisie,” is how the main character wittily and accurately calls himself. A man with the funny surname Shut and the common name Andrei is engaged in a business that is not at all a joke. Since the Soviet presence in Afghanistan, he has been selling weapons. He has passports of several countries in his pocket, including Israel, Russia, and Ukraine. This does not prevent him from keeping his main office in one of the Arab countries. The main action of the book takes place in 2003. At this time, the Jester is very closely involved in the supply of small arms to Liberia. Accidentally or intentionally, the plane with the cargo of weapons that was delivered for the Jester is shot down. The crew dies. The disaster was witnessed by a casual acquaintance of the merchant, the African Miki, with whom the Jester subsequently begins an affair. It turns out that the girl is connected with people from the highest echelons of local government. But this only creates unnecessary problems for the businessman. The story of the relationship between Mika and the Jester is the main storyline. They either reach out to each other or rush away in different directions. “The whole point is that we are white and they are black,” the Jester assesses the situation skeptically. Trying to understand the African way of life, he is immersed in a completely unfamiliar environment. Healing traditions, mysterious healing drinks, African meaningful legends - all this now surrounds the Jester. And, most importantly, it prevents him from earning money in a well-known, proven way. The story of the sudden wealth that the Jester found himself woven into the fabric of the novel. At one time, Andrei participated in a secret operation of transporting Iraqi chemical weapons to Colombian rebels. It seemed impossible, but the arms dealer came up with an ingenious combination with which he made it all happen. In Liberia, a phase of active hostilities begins between the rebels and the central government. Both need Andrey. He supplies weapons to both sides and goes to incredible lengths to appease payers. True, as a result of his combinations, he ends up on the side of the rebels, and his girlfriend is in the camp of the president’s supporters. By coincidence, the Liberian Miki dies. The jester could barely survive it. He escapes with drugs, and in a cocaine-opium stupor talks with the ghost of the leader of the Colombian guerrillas. After all, cocaine is also of Colombian origin. In fact, Comandante de Silva is the voice of his logic; he gives Andrei unique hints. Who is his friend and who is his enemy. What is reality and what is a hoax. Who actually died and who survived. Of course, Miki will survive and meet Andrei. But this meeting will take place in a completely unexpected place and will force Andrei to reveal the main secret of his business. The novel is structured in such a way that by the end of the action all the plot lines merge into one. The main link of all plot lines is the hero, Andrei Shut. The novel is replete with all kinds of African parables , quotes from songs, messages from news sites, allusions and simply thoughts of the hero. The author carefully maintains accuracy in describing the locations, be it airfields in Liberia, megacities in the Arabian desert or Colombian coca plantations with cocaine trading posts. After all, the author saw it all himself. http://equator.inter.ua/
