About the book: 2021 / The book "Gekachepists" is dedicated to the biographies of people who forever went down in the history of the USSR as members of the State Committee for the State of Emergency (GKChP). They were very different personalities, but in some ways, undoubtedly, outstanding and talented, who managed to reach the highest government positions. They were united by participation in an attempt to save the Soviet Union from collapse, but the failure of the State Emergency Committee only accelerated the collapse of the country and thus entailed consequences on a world-historical scale.
