The writer's creative heritage has not yet been fully collected. The story “The Top”, which we published, was not included in Green’s books or collections of his works. This story about the times of the First World War was first published on June 30, 1915 in the newspaper “Trudovaya Kopeika”, published in Moscow, a little later - in No. 39 of that the same year - in the magazine "Niva"; in August 1979 it was reprinted by Don magazine.
