In 2014, the Editus publishing house published his drama “Seven Fridays of the Pharisee Saul,” dedicated to the main event in the life of the Apostle Paul. And, although the action of “Nutella” takes place in our time and is not connected in plot with the previous play by A. Andreev, these two works are united by a common character. The same person acts both in the Gospel time and in the present, resurrecting the ancient legend that the beloved disciple of Christ, John, the son of Zebedee, did not die, but, according to the word of Jesus, lives on earth in anticipation of the coming of his Teacher. In the new play offered to the reader, John Zebedee, aka John the Theologian, the author of the Apocalypse, appears in a psychiatric clinic, which is not surprising in the modern world, in which there is hardly less madness than outside the walls of an insane asylum. “The White Ark” is the third play by Alexander Andreev , published by Editus Publishing House. As in the first two - “Seven Fridays of the Pharisee Saul” and “Nutella” - in this new drama the undying disciple of Jesus Christ, the author of the Apocalypse, John, son of Zebedee, appears again. This time the action takes place at a roadside gas station, surrounded by thickets of hogweed, rising taller than human height. The multi-kilometer traffic jam has not moved for several hours now. Five travelers decide to leave their cars on the road and take a break in a small cafe at a gas station. It gradually becomes clear that the forest-like giant hogweed, advancing from all sides, is not really a plant, but a multifaceted creature capable of not only speaking with people, but also revealing the secrets of what is happening to them.
