The author describes in most detail the historical figures of his time and events, a witness (and often a participant) of which he was a person close to the imperial court. Grigora displays impressive scrupulousness, but his style is pompous and tendentious. More than close attention is paid to religious issues and dogmatic disputes. Three volumes under one cover.
