About the book: 1989 / Ten years later on Earth, in Isaac Asimov's story "The Night That Dies", college friends met at one of their congresses - Talliafero, Raiger, Kones and Villiers. During these ten years, each of them worked in different places in the solar system: Edward Talliafero on the Moon, Bettersley Raiger on Ceres, Stanley Cones on Mercury, and Romaero Villiers on Earth, because he suffered from severe rheumatism and a weak heart. Villiers was the most gifted among them, but his illness also made him evil. Maybe that's why he invented a way to instantly move mass to any distance. He was supposed to make a report at the congress. Only three friends knew about his discovery, as well as Professor Mendel. But something unexpected happened. Villiers died, and someone burned his report right in the room. Dr. Mendel took over the investigation. He alone saw Villiers's experiment in moving the mouse over a distance. None of the three classmates admitted to the crime, and there were solid grounds that before Villiers’ death from a heart attack, the criminal had photographed the report. Mendel's friend, Endell Worth, who has deductive abilities, helped figure out the situation..
