About the book: 2015 / Oleg Gennadyevich Sentsov is a Ukrainian film director, screenwriter and writer. He became famous in the professional film community in 2012 after the release of his debut film “Gamer”, with which he participated in several international festivals. The collection of stories included in the book, according to the writer Andrei Kurkov, is “autobiographical prose of a happy man.” Alexey Kurilko characterized these memories of childhood as “a look at his childhood actions through the prism of the morality of an adult.” In the spring of 2014, he was detained by Russian law enforcement agencies in Crimea on suspicion of terrorist activities. In August 2015 he was sentenced to 20 years.
