About the book: 2019 / Novel "Igor. Root of the Family" is the third in the chain of stories about the first Novgorod-Kyiv princes during the formation and development of the Russian principality in the 9th–10th centuries. The reader is already familiar with the novels “Rurik. Flight of the Falcon" and "Runes of the Prophetic Oleg", written by us in collaboration with Mikhail Nikolaevich Zadornov. Prince Igor is the first ancient Russian prince, whose name is known to both Byzantine and Western sources. In this novel we set out a version of historical events that seems logical to us justified. Prince Igor, later called the Old, put his stone into the foundation of the Russian principality, defended it with dignity and strengthened it, without losing anything that had been previously won by his father Rarog-Rurik and uncle Oleg the Prophet. He laid the foundation for the Rurik dynasty, which ruled Rus' for more than six hundred years.
