About the book: year / In the life of every child there comes a moment when he awakens to communicate with the outside world. And this is not always a joyful process. Martin Puzov, the eleven-year-old child of intelligent parents, did not grow up in a vacuum, but meetings on the streets of his native seaside town make him think about friendship and loneliness, about what is happening next to him, and about events many thousands of kilometers from home. Fascinated by photography, Mart arranges a photo shoot for her childhood friend Galinka on a destroyed coastal battery. And there they meet Artyom, an orphanage resident. It doesn’t take long for the kids to begin to understand that life is not always bright and pleasant. Martin immediately takes a liking to the straightforward, fair Tyom. Events go beyond street acquaintances. Martin and his friends have to plunge headlong into Artyom’s conflict with the orphanage management. And then there’s the new comrade Gali, the son of refugees from Ukraine Petka Osinin, with his complex picture of the world. The guys get to know each other, the adult world, and the history of the city by the sea. And the stormy summer life brings them under the sails of a children's flotilla, bearing the ringing name of a fair wind.
