    About the book: 1984 / Written in the 30s of the 20th century by a career officer and writer, the novel "Prospectors" is associated with the author’s memories of his work at the Shakhtoma mine in the Chita region, in those years, a turbulent border region, where sabotage constantly took place by Japanese and Chinese groups and White Guards. The only son of Vasily Petrovich Ganibesov became a victim of one of these operations. After demobilization from the Soviet Army in 1933, Vasily Ganibesov studied in Moscow at courses in Marxism-Leninism under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. At the end of the course, the party sent him among the same twenty-five thousand volunteers to the most difficult area of ​​socialist construction - to the gold mines of Transbaikalia as a party organizer. Vasily Petrovich worked for five years at the Shakhtoma mine in the Chita region. Carrying out important party assignments, Vasily Petrovich Ganibesov found time to engage in literary and creative work, in particular he wrote the novel “Prospectors” based on local material. At the end of 1937, Vasily Petrovich Ganibesov was transferred to the local industry department of the regional executive committee in Chita. Extensive life experience and considerable experience in party work provided rich material for artistic creativity. Having become a professional writer, Vasily Ganibesov moved to Leningrad, where he got the opportunity to widely communicate with writers. Here his novel “Prospectors” was completed and a series of essays and stories was written.
