About the book: 1999 / Hebrew writer Zvi-Gersh (Grigory Izrailevich) Preigerzon (1900–1969) was known in Russia as a major specialist in coal enrichment for most of his life worked at the Moscow Mining Institute. The writer carried his love for Hebrew throughout his entire life, secretly engaged in literary work in his native language - after all, Hebrew was a forbidden language in the Soviet Union. In 1949, he was arrested and spent many years in Stalin's camps. The main theme of his works was the life of Jews in Soviet Russia. The books of Zvi Preigerzon were able to see the light only in Israel, 30–40 years after their creation. They have taken their rightful place in Hebrew literature. This publication is the first book of the writer’s stories translated from Hebrew into Russian.
