About the book: year / Karinthy wrote his fantastic story in the spirit of Swift, as a continuation of Gulliver’s travels. He tried to preserve in it not only the author’s style and character of the famous hero, but also Swift’s style of ironic storytelling. The funny fairy tale gradually appeared as a serious, not at all joking, reflection on the most important thing in a person’s life - the nature of his relationships with the outside world and society. Karinthi organically got used to Swift's style, but just like Gulliver's Travels, his story bears the indelible stamp of its time. Preserving the original situation, Karinthy, as it were, takes Swift's hero into the 20th century, more precisely into its first decades, and makes him act and think like his contemporary.
