Many magazines, almanacs and literary collections were published under his editorship. Chulkov published before and after the 1917 revolution and made a huge contribution to the development of Russian literature. As a philosopher, he created the theory of “mystical anarchism,” which proclaimed the inner freedom of the individual from any control. Harsh life in the Siberian taiga is one of the most popular subjects in Russian literature. In Chulkov’s performance, the image of the taiga acquires age-old mystery and symbolism characteristic of the era. He lives in primitive conditions, overcoming difficulties every day. The wife, who arrived from Moscow, suddenly feels like someone distant, unknown to the hero, the source of the fatal secret of the world. A woman cannot comprehend how to fully understand all his mysteries.... During his life, G. Chulkov created many unique works. Among them are the novel “Blizzard”, mystical short stories “Voice from the Grave”, “The Sea Princess”, the autobiographical cycle “Years of Wandering”, which contains essays on various topics - “Crisis of Decadence”, “New Path”, “Torches”, “Questions” life”, biographical stories about contemporaries (“L. N. Andreev”, “V. Ya. Bryusov”, “Alexander Blok”, “Fedor Sologub”, “M. N. Ermolova”»).
