About the book: year / Imagine a picture of a world where people are devoid of fear... Can you imagine? And now the other side of the picture is when people are afraid of everyone and always. So, which picture of the world do you consider more terrible? Fear is an emotion that arises in situations of threat to the biological or social existence of an individual and is aimed at the source of real or imagined danger. Unlike pain and other types of suffering caused by the real action of life-threatening factors, fear arises when they are anticipated. Depending on the nature of the threat, the intensity and specificity of the experience of fear varies in a fairly wide range of shades (apprehension, fear, fear, horror). If the source of danger is uncertain or unconscious, the resulting state is called anxiety. If fear is associated with a wide range of more or less random objects or situations, it can become a phobia (obsessively occurring states of fear). Functionally, fear serves to warn the subject about impending danger, allows one to focus attention on its source, and encourages one to look for ways to avoid it. When fear reaches the intensity of affect (panic fear, horror), it is capable of imposing behavioral stereotypes (flight, numbness, defensive aggression). Evolution has come into its natural rights. In the process of evolution, the feeling of security has been given particular importance; As a result, we experience fear more often than necessary. Why does safety play such an important role in evolution? The fact is that safety is one of the most important conditions for the reproduction of organisms. If we are safe, then we can live to reproductive age; if there is no security, then we are deprived of such a chance. For genetic evolution, the quality of our life is indifferent; only the number of descendants is important for it. It is natural (natural in the literal sense of the word, since we are talking specifically about natural selection) that the desire for security began to play an increasingly important role in people's lives. Like other drives, this instinct was accompanied by another feeling - in this case, fear.
