But this is not the story of a slave, because Oleg Borisovich Borovsky, having received 25 years of hard labor in Vorkuta for “preparing an assassination attempt on Comrade Stalin during the parade of athletes on Red Square,” did not turn into a slave. The X-ray machines that engineer Borovsky designed and manufactured in prison workshops for camp hospitals are one of the legends of the Gulag. These “SLAVES” saved more than one miner’s life, helped put many crippled people back on their feet... Oleg Borovsky waited for the death of the tyrant, lived to see his liberation and rehabilitation, preserved and carried through his whole life the love he met in Rechlag. But he did something more - he wrote detailed and honest memoirs about his experiences. This must not be forgotten so that it does not happen again - if, of course, we want to remain in history as people and not cannibals.
