About the book: 2003 / An impoverished aristocrat accidentally finds an ancient artifact, inside of which something living is discovered. He hires a young scientist, Carolina Reese, to look into the discovery. The Count does not realize that by reviving the ancient creature, he is signing a death warrant for himself and, perhaps, for all of humanity, for the Lord of Battle - a unique parasitic life form - is practically invincible.
