S. Yu. Witte became the first head of a unified government in the history of Russia - the Prime Minister. Under the leadership of S. Yu. Witte, such significant economic reforms were carried out as the introduction of a wine monopoly, the establishment of gold circulation of the ruble, thanks to which the ruble became one of the most stable and reputable currencies in the civilized world. S. Yu. Witte, as Minister of Finance, contributed in every possible way to the construction of the Great Siberian Railway (Trans-Siberian), which connected Central Russia with Siberia and the Far East. These and other economic reforms contributed to the unprecedented growth of Russian industry. In 1904–1906. S. Yu. Witte led the implementation of political reforms aimed at transforming the state system of the Russian Empire into a constitutional monarchy, and the main of these reforms was the creation of a bicameral parliament in the form of the State Council and the State Duma. The count's memoirs are not just some kind of dispassionate narrative, but a real intellectual weapon. The publishing design is preserved in PDF A4 format.
