Despite the fact that all the events described are reliable, the book is written in the genre of an adventure novel and differs from traditional memoirs. Some of the people described in the book, whom the author met, are known to people all over the world. The author learned Russian as the third language after German and French, but the book is read very easily and with interest. It covers several generations of the family: the author’s grandparents, who were in the first wave of emigration at the beginning of the last century, his parents, sisters and subsequent generations, and the events described in the book take place on almost all continents.
