  • MediaDB / «Ukrainian nationalism: only for the people" Alexey Kotigoroshko, Salamandrov G., Stechkin A.: download fb2, read online

About the book: 2014 / Recently, the ideas of Ukrainian nationalists have become increasingly popular. They are becoming fashionable. At first we brushed aside this circumstance: you never know what stupid things fashion can instill? But then we noticed that some of our acquaintances, whom we know as smart and sensible people who are not inclined to succumb to mass psychoses, also became nationalists. Then we started thinking. It looks like this is something more serious than simple fashion. Does Ukrainian nationalism somehow offend people? In short, we became interested in the essence of Ukrainian nationalism and we decided to figure it out, at least for ourselves, what kind of beast this is? We had not dealt with him before, we had not read the works of nationalists, and therefore it turned out that we looked at nationalist ideas with a fresh, undulled gaze. It was interesting to read. In each text, a sea of new things was revealed to us. What the nationalists themselves consider hackneyed and therefore not arousing attention literally hurt our eyes. In the process of reading, we actually learned a lot of new things. We were finally able to figure out what types of Ukrainian nationalism exist - it turned out to be very heterogeneous. We saw what ideas guide Ukrainian nationalists and traced their historical roots. We looked at how Ukrainian nationalism relates to morality and modern scientific theories, what its psychological background is, what nationalists strive for... As a result, we made the discovery for ourselves that nationalism is really a beast.
