About the book: 2008 / A new work by military historian O. Goncharenko is dedicated to the most tragic period in the history of the Russian Imperial Fleet. Battles of 1914–1915 in the Black and Baltic Seas, the death of the battleship Empress Maria and the cruiser Zhemchug, revolutionary unrest and mass executions of officers became a turning point in his fate. And yet this was not the death of the fleet. The newly created white squadrons and flotillas fought in the Baltic, Black, Caspian and Barents seas, as well as on Lakes Onega and Ladoga, on the Volga, Kama, Shilka and Angara. The history of the Russian Imperial Fleet ended with the tragic days of the evacuation of the remnants of the White Army and the last campaign of the Black Sea Fleet squadron to Bizerte.
