About the book: 2016 / Memoirs of Valery Grigorievich Ozerov tell about the life and service of his father G. M. Ozerov, an honest Russian officer who happened to serve during a difficult period in our history – 1903–1923 The text was prepared by the grandson of V. G. Ozerov, Konstantin Grigorievich, based on miraculously preserved handwritten fragments.V. G. Ozerov came from a family of hereditary military sailors (all of his ancestors since the time of Peter I served in the navy), of whom the most famous are Rear Admiral M. V. Ozerov, commander of the battleship "Sisoi the Great" in the Battle of Tsushima, and sub-navigator V V. Spolokhov, participant in the first Russian trip around the world under the leadership of I. F. Kruzenshtern. The book tells about the life of a decent Russian officer, about the history of his native city - Kronstadt. About the complex events in the navy that took place during the First World War and the 1917 revolution. V. G. Ozerov’s testimony about the Kronstadt uprising of 1921 and the assessment of events after it, given by the author in these memoirs, do not always coincide with the opinion of modern historians. These notes, meanwhile, are valuable for history and its researchers, because they are the truth of that era of global upheavals in the lives of generations of Russian people, in which not everyone was given a rightful place.
